St Edward’s Remembrance
19 November 2018
On Friday 9th November 2018, St Edward’s Academy marked Remembrance Weekend. This included a focus on ex-St Edward’s staff and students who served in WWI and WWII. The school marked the 11th hour, 11th day and 11th month of the 100 year anniversary of the end of WWI by having a series of assemblies, and a whole school 2 minute silence. The Last Post played across the school site to mark the special moment when the whole school fell into silence.
A moving installation of poppies, inspired by the Tower of London Poppy Display was created by Mrs Wake and a number of students. The installation focused on the There But Not There figures provided to us by the Royal British Legion.
